Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful summer weather. The lilacs are just starting to bloom this week and our residents are enjoying the 14 acres of woods and wildlife at Valleyview. We do have one opening in assisted living right now, so call and schedule a visit soon.
Valleyview residents enjoy a number of fun activities both on-site and off-site. On the agenda for next week is a trip to the Belle Plaine Thrift Store, to Jim's Apple Barn (the world's largest candy store), two trips to Jordan, and the Hong Kong Buffet for dinner. On-site activities include cash bingo (we play bingo 3 times a week), a pie and ice cream social, a picnic on the deck, sun painting, and a Yahtzee tournament. Call for a tour and join us for lunch or one of these fun activities.
I have the BEST job here at Valleyview, I am the Activity Director and I love planning all of these activities for our residents. Today we had a beautiful afternoon outside Sun Painting, It was great to see their creative side come out and to share stories and laughter with them.
Next week is a full one, we are having an Auction Night, Little Caesars Pizza for supper, Thursday, (weather permitting) a bonfire with S'more's, 10,000 Tournament, Resident Council and more!
Our Summer is going to be very busy and very fun! Check out our Facebook page, call and schedule a tour or just come out and share some lunch with us.
Wow, this summer weather has been just fantastic! So great to see our residents out walking around the building on our tarred walking path, tending to gardening in our wheelchair gardens, and visiting on the patio with our psychotherapist. Others are enjoying biking or walking the two miles to Jordan for a trip to McDonalds, the library or the local grocery store.
Those that cannot walk or bike to town often use their ARMHS services through the local Cedar House to help them with shopping or errands. Cedar House also has a drop-in center in Jordan where they provide games, crafts, group therapy, and even a noon lunch, for the ones that want to socialize a little more.
If you are interested in touring the facility and getting to know some of staff, please give me a call. We can arrange a complimentary luncheon during the tour, if your schedule permits. See you soon!
As summer winds down and the trees turn from deep green to vibrant yellow, red and orange, our Valleyview residents are enjoying a cornucopia of fall activities, both on- and off-campus. Recent trips to the Minnesota Harvest Orchard, Wagner's Yellow Apple Barn, and a fall color tour to Henderson with a stop at Toody's Ice Cream Shop were intermingled with Cider and Snickerdoodle and Pumpkin Pie and Coffee socials on-campus, to name a few of the recent cooler-weather activities. Next week our residents will be going bowling and out for dinner for Chinese food at the Hong Kong Buffet in Shakopee. For those who like to stick around, there is an UNO tournament, Bingo (3 different times with money prizes),a dice tournament, and a Yahtzee tournament.. Can't forget our two weekly trips to Jordan and our wonderful church service with Pastor Bill and Pastor Lois every Wednesday.
